In the Spotlight – Episode 6

This week brings an end to our first term in the Spotlight, and what a term of success and celebration it has been.  We firstly wish to say a huge thank you to all the children who have been a part of Spotlight this term and we have loved hearing about every success.  We couldn’t do Spotlight if it wasn’t for the amazingly talented children we have at DBCPS.

On to this weeks episode.  First up is one of our brilliantly talented Year 4 girls.  We have been wowed by the amazing artwork produced and are so pleased to share it on Spotlight.  The passion for the artwork is great to see and if you want to see more artwork from our Year 4 pupil please don’t hesitate to ask her.

We also have a wonderfully talented Year 3 pupil who has received his certificate and bookmark for his writing – that was published in a book!  Not only is it incredibly creative and imaginative but we are so proud of the effort that went in to the writing and will certainly be buying the book it is a part of!

Thanks again to everyone and if you want to be in the Spotlight come and find us and we be sure to celebrate with you!

Mr Eastes

My dad and the rest of my family like to draw a lot. My step-sister is looking to become a tattooist, so she is really in to art, and my dad used to art as well. I like to do art in my free time. As you can see from some of my drawings, they are from the Jungle Book which are studying in class at the moment. I want to be a vet when i’m older so have been sketching what I would like my surgery to look like.

I won this award for entering a young writers competition. There were three topics to choose from and I chose ‘Mum in a Million’ where I had to write about my mum and different things that are nice about her. I really enjoyed writing my piece of work for this competition. My mum congratulated me for winning and I received my certificate and bookmark in the post. I’m really pleased with myself at the moment and would like to do more writing like this in the future.
