We had a visit from a theatrical production company who reenacted the story of ‘The Railway Children‘. All classes were able to watch the show and thoroughly enjoyed it.
“After their father is wrongly imprisoned for espionage, three Edwardian children, Roberta, Peter and Phyllis and their mother are forced to leave their lovely home in London to live in a tiny little cottage in Yorkshire where they have to “Play at being poor for a while”. The children discover a railway line at the bottom of the garden and soon become friendly with Perks the porter at Oakworth Station and with the Old Gentleman who regularly takes the 9.15 train to London. This is the story of their many adventures on the railway and tells of how their unlikely friendship with the Old Gentleman finally leads to him helping to prove their father’s innocence and to finally reunite the family.”
