Learning about Food
As part of Science week, we have been learning about healthy and unhealthy foods. We learnt that healthy foods are good for you and that unhealthy foods are bad for you and that you should eat them in moderation. We looked at the difference between fruit and vegetables and learnt that we should be eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.
Callum R said ‘healthy foods are grown in the groups’
Zohaib said ‘healthy foods have good sugar in them’
Imaan said ‘fruits are healthy because they grow in the ground’
Stephanie said ‘we should eat vegetables and fruit 5 times a day’
Macayla said ‘chocolate is unhealthy. It doesn’t make you strong. Good food makes you have lots of energy’
Jisha said ‘sweets are unhealthy because they have too much sugar and it makes your teeth bad. Broccoli is really good for you, it has protein’
Bruno said ‘you should have 5 fruit or vegetables a day’
In our groups we sorted out the foods into healthy and unhealthy foods. We had a big discussion about why certain foods and drinks are good for you and why they are bad for you. We decided that it’s important to have everything in proportion and not to have too many unhealthy foods.
