Our topic this term is entitled Scrumdiddlyumptious.
In Literacy, we have been reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory by Roald Dahl. This is a fantastic book, which we are thoroughly enjoying. If you haven’t read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory we would definitely recommend it. We have particularly enjoyed reading all about the fascinating Oompa-Loompas who work for Mr Wonka in the factory. We have written non-chronological reports all about the Oompa –Loompas.
In History, we have been learning about James Lind who discovered a cure for Scurvy. We have also written non-chronological reports about James Lind. We hope that you enjoy reading our reports.
Our Art and Design lesson have focused on sketching and sculpture. During this topic we worked very hard to develop our drawing skills. We learnt to use hatching, cross-hatching and stippling to create texture. We then used our newly acquired skills to sketch fruit. Have we managed to capture the texture of the skin? Can you see the light and dark areas?
