Shorne Country Park
Recently, as part of our topic: ‘Wriggle and Crawl, Year 2 went to the amazing Shorne Country Park. We learnt all about mini beasts, their habitats and enjoyed exploring and walking around the large areas of the park. The children had a great time undertaking various activities such as ‘Woodland Olympics’, creating a sound map, tree rubbings, map reading, bug and habitat hunt. The children worked in groups and used their ‘Identification Wheel’ to help them to find and identify the many different leaves and trees around the park.
Additionally, we had a chance to explore the adventure playground and had a go on all the exciting equipment. Some of us were fast, some were high but most of all we all enjoyed playing and taking turns.
